Intercom subprocessor changes: a reproducible two-version comparison

The default US service list grew from 11 normalized suppliers to 14 between the versions effective April 9, 2025 and June 25, 2026.

The result: three additions, zero removals

The supplied same-scope extracts contain three added names: Ably, Cartesia and ElevenLabs. Eleven names are unchanged. These are changes between two published effective dates, not changes during the past 30 days and not dates of contract signing.

AblyReal-time message deliveryA messaging addition, not an AI-model switch
CartesiaText-to-speech AI processingA disclosed purpose, not measured usage
ElevenLabsText-to-speech AI processingMay coexist with other providers; no exclusive use established

Exactly what was compared

The unit is a normalized supplier name in the default US-hosted service section. EU and Australian regional sections are excluded. The extracts were recorded on September 10, 2026; the linked old and current official pages were rechecked for this article on October 23. The earlier and later effective dates differ from both review dates. We preserve the extracted identifiers so anyone can reproduce the set comparison.

Run the comparison

Download the two-version JSON and Python script to the same folder. Run: python3 diff-intercom.py intercom-disclosure-versions.json. It checks company, scope and completeness before subtracting sets. Expected added identifiers are ably, cartesia, elevenlabs; removed is an empty array; unchanged has 11 entries. Compare the output with the result download.

What this method will miss

A set diff cannot identify wording changes for an unchanged supplier, regional changes outside the selected scope, or contracts absent from the public list. Inspect purpose and geography manually. If a source fails to load, record that as missing evidence rather than a removal. These two versions do not support a claim that Intercom replaced OpenAI with Anthropic: both names are present in both extracts.
